The Boys and Girls Club Of Greater Nashua Swim Team marked their first return to Arlington in seven years with an a thrilling 184 - 167 come from behind victory over the Arlington Boys & Girls Club in NENEAPC dual league meet action. The Dolphins were chased by the Spy Ponders throughout the evening with the Arlington squad leading in 4 of five age groups through the beginning of the backstroke events. It looked like this might mark Nashua second loss of the season as the squad of 48 valiantly tried to fend off the team of 130. But Nashua's 14 and under and 17 and swimmers were not about to stand still and let that happen. Down 23-27, BGCN's 14 and under backstrokers Lauren Decker(1:15:00) and Joe Rocheleau(1:19:61) powered to an impressive 1-2 finish and while teammates Sabrina Sander (1:24:95) and Laura Bourassa (1:30:32) followed suit with an equally strong 1-2 finish in the 100 breaststroke, to give Nashua the age group lead, thus preventing a last minute showdown in the 200 yard freestyle relay. Senior action followed much the same path with the Dolphin's fighting tooth and nail against a powerful Arlington squad. Down by six, backstrokers Chris Greathead (1:15:05) and Brendan McLaughlin(1:20:35) eaked out a one point lead finishing 1-2 in the 100 back, while Camilo Maldonado kept things close in the 100 breast taking second in a personal best time of (1:23:60). Victory in the age group was taken by the 400 freestyle relay squad of Kate Engstler, Jennifer McMahon, Steve Mazerolle and Chris Greathead who came from behind to take a (4:35:45) victory and the senior age group 39-32. The win lifts Nashua to 7-1 on the season (5-1)in NENEAPC action.

The Boys and Girls Club Of Greater Nashua Dolphins Swim Team came within scant points of upsetting the previously undefeated South Boston Boys Girls Club Shamrocks, as the two teams collided in a battle for the top spot in the NENEAPC dual meet league. When the waves had settled South Boston, owners of a 52 dual meet win streak had come out alive, but just barely as the Grand Avenue squad not only managed to defeat the South Boston 12 and unders with a convincing 47-21 victory, avenging last years 53-12 drubbing, but then Nashua's band of (12) 10 and unders rose to the challenge tying Southie's squad of 24, by a score of 34-34. This marked the first time in four years that any league team had come even close to loosening South Boston's grip on the top spot in the league. Nashua continued it''s push challenging in the 14 and under age group, with a number of hard fought battles, before finally dropping after losing both the 200 medley and 200 free relays to give the Shamrocks a 46-31 victory.
The meet was pulse pounding right from the start and leading the way for the Dolphins was an overpowering effort by the 12 and under squad. Tops along the way was Brian Greathead picking up a pair of victories 50 free (28:59) and the 100 free (1:05:00), while teammate Anne Sullivan captured first in the 50 back (34:37) as well as second in the 100 individual medley. Nashua's breaststrokers proved tough as Amanda Duquette (39:44) and Laura Bourassa (40:88) provided a solid one-two punch, with Bourassa (35:63) and Phyllis Wall (39:45) combining for a 1-3 finish in the 50 yard butterfly. Rounding out the powerful Dolphin 12 year old surge were the 200 medley relay team of Sullivan, Wall, Duquette and Greathead in (2:18:86), while the 200 free relay team of Aron Varhegyi, Duquette, Amanda Bourassa and Laura Bourassa led the team to a )2:17:49) victory.
